White Water Rafting in Goa

Important Note: White Water Rafting is only available during monsoons in the month of July to September subject to availability of rapids, adequate water currents in the river and suitable weather conditions.

Fun on the beach is almost extinct during your trip to Goa in monsoons due to rough seas and high swells but Goa has another pleasant surprise for water sports enthusiasts, pure fun for the whole family. Yes, you can go for White Water Rafting in Sattari Taluka, Goa on River Mhadei or Mandovi during monsoons. This region is exposed to the full might of the south west monsoons and the valleys below drain the highest rainfall in Goa. Mandovi River forms the swift flowing escape for this outpouring of water surrounded by deciduous forests and a renowned wildlife habitat where rare animals and birds roam in deep valleys and hilly terrain.

Sattari Taluka is one of Goa's hidden gems, located in world famous Western Ghats. UNESCO has identified and added the Western Ghats to its World Heritage List. GTDC and some private operators take you for two to three hours on a journey down the Mandovi River for the thrill of white water rafting in this amazing environment. This journey also offers the best forest views, richest environment and one of the greatest number of rapids of any rafting stretch. River Mandovi offers fun for the beginner, family and advanced rafter alike. Go for White Water Rafting when it rains.
